Combining a guided walk with indepent tramping for a fantastic multi-day hike on the Routeburn Track!

For trampers who fancy a guided walk but also enjoy the independence of freedom tramping, the Routeburn Experience provides a perfect blend of both; encompassing a guided day walk to the Routeburn Falls Hut on day one and independent hiking for days two and three.

The Routeburn Experience package includes:

  • Return transport between Queenstown and the Routeburn Track.
  • Hut bookings for two nights; at the Routeburn Falls and Lake Mackenzie huts (availability permitting).
  • Pre-hike briefing in Queenstown the day before with an experienced walking guide.
  • Guided walk to Routeburn Falls hut on day one.
  • Picnic lunch, trail mix snacks and bottled water for day one.
  • Two Back Country hikers meals.
  • Department of Conservation Routeburn Track information booklet.
  • Suggested packing & preparation shopping list.
  • Tramping equipment rental for day one (see below).

Please note that a single-person supplement of $179 applies to solo bookings.

Expand your Routeburn Experience

Modify your trip with some great value added extras!

Any of the below options can be added to your Routeburn Experience package to fine-tune it into the perfect trip to meet your requirements! The Milford Sound option comprises a 1.30pm pickup from the Divide Shelter, a gormet picnic lunch, transport into Milford for a late afternoon cruise on the fiord, and transport from Milford back to Queenstown, arriving at approx 9.45pm. Accommodation prices are given per person (dorm share), or per room (twin/double/king), per night.
