Track Information

This section is dedicated to hiking/walking in the Queenstown, Southern Lakes & Fiordland areas and provides information about the walking tracks, links to transport services, equipment rental, weather conditions, environmental codes and much more...

We encourage you to visit the Department of Conservation website for detailed information on New Zealand's native environment & ecology.

The official hiking season is late-Oct to late-April each year and is decided by the Department of Conservation (DoC) who manage all the 'Great Walks' and other back country hut accommodation. If you are visiting this gorgeous part of New Zealand then you'll want to consider spending some time on one of our famous walks. Select any one of the tracks listed below for more information about independent hiking.

* Routeburn Track
* Milford Track
* Greenstone and/or Caples Tracks
* Rees and/or Dart Tracks
* Kepler Track

As we are experts in making hiking hassle-free we have TRACK TRANSPORT options and also hiking equipment rental (see right) available. So when you are planning a hiking experience it is okay to 'leave home without it'!

If guided walking is more your thing then take a look at the options available with our WILDERNESS GUIDED WALKS products.
