Wilderness Guided Walks
Wilderness Guided Walks encompass half, full, 2 and 3-day guided and mixed guided/independent walking options for all ages and fitness levels.
Our aim is to create an authentic wilderness experience for our clients. Our trips feature...
Beautiful Locations - The Sylvan Lake Trail and Routeburn Trail are both located in Mt. Aspiring National Park. Not only is the drive from Queenstown to the tracks stunning, but the remote and tranquil setting of these walks is a true reflection of New Zealand wilderness. The Historic Lakeview Trail features views of Lake Dispute and Lake Wakatipu, and out across the lake to Cecil and Walter Peaks. This trail is nestled in stunning scenic reserve and provides a wonderful backdrop for photos.
Interpretation - Our guides are enthusiastic and informative. We pride ourselves on delivering commentary in the most interesting ways. We invite you not only to see the wilderness but to touch, taste, smell and listen to it. This is much more than just a walk.
Small Groups - We have a small guide to client ration to ensure you always get the best possible experience.
Safety - All our guides have current first aid certificates. Safety and passenger comfort are of the utmost importance.
For information on our half-day guided walk options, please select either the Lake Sylvan Trail or Historic Lakeview Trail. For a full-day walk, please see the Routeburn Trail, or check out our new Routeburn Experience package which combines a guided day walk with independent hiking to the end of the track on days two and three. Finally, our Wilderness Experience packages combine guided walks with lunch and/or accommodation at the idylic Kinloch Lodge and an afternoon of jet-boating on the majestic Dart River.
